THE FIRST STEPS TOWARDS INDEPENDENCE
v
The start of school is the first step taken by our little ones
towards independence. A wide world of information is opened up for our
children with this experience of schooling. It is, however not easy for most
children to be separated from the mother initially, even for a very short
period of time. Separation anxiety is common at this age and presents itself
in both the mother and the child. To make this transition easier, moms are
invited inside the classroom and encouraged to interact with their little
ones for 3 days.
v
These 3 days also gives you an opportunity to develop a rapport
with your child’s teachers. On the other hand the teacher gets the
opportunity to familiarize herself with each child and gradually build up a
relationship based on trust and care with your child.
v
After 3 days, the majority of moms are required to drop their
little ones in the respective classroom and return later to pick up the child
at the time specified by the teacher.
v
We understand that it is at times difficult to leave a crying
child but we assure you our teachers are experienced and well trained to
handle these situations. Timings are reduced at this point
v
Parent cooperation is very important in helping us make sure
your child settles down in his new environment as fast and as easily as
possible.
v
Gradually your child’s timings will be increased. The increase
in timing varies according to each child and his/her level of comfort in the
classroom environment. Within the first month, majority of students are
following regular timings.

Activities Followed By
Our Toddlers/Beginners During A Typical School Day
v
Group Lessons – students are encouraged to sit, concentrate, listen and
understand the concepts presented by the teacher. This lesson does not exceed
duration of more than 15 minutes after which the students are directed
towards free choice material work. We firmly believe that a child learns,
absorbs and retains knowledge extensively from practical experiences rather
than inactive listening.
v
Montessori Presentations - focus
is on Sensorial and E.P.L. presentations at this level along with classified
cards presentations for language
v
Art Activities – children
are exposed to the world of colors and are encouraged to experiment using
different mediums including their hands (hand art) paint brushes (free art)
scissors (cutting) fingers (gluing for collage) etc. Seeing their finished
products on paper is an experience by itself for the little ones.
v
Music Time – with
music comes physical expression of self as well as discipline. This fact becomes
visible in our students performance during the end of the year Annual Musical
Concert event
v
Library Time – we aim to inculcate the love of reading and respecting books in
every child. Library time also focuses on the concept of maintaining silence,
concentration and focus as well as listening comprehension.
v
Play Area Activities – free
play as well as teacher directed play activities are conducted in the school
basement area.
